Brent Bloser - Evergreen Produce, Adell, GA
At Evergreen Produce Brent Bloser grows cucumbers, pickles, eggplants, tomatoes, and watermelons, which have shown tremendous improvement since he started using Plant Tech’s “Release” product.
“Yeah, my watermelon yield increased from 47,000 pounds per acre to 59,000 pounds per acre,” Bloser said. “I see faster plant growth and early maturity, so I can get to market faster. It extends my growing season on both ends, so I can take advantage of price fluctuations. I now have a much bigger window of opportunity to capture the highest price that I possibly can for my melons. I can harvest earlier, and beat my neighbors to market, and sometimes I can keep harvesting longer.
Not only that, Bloser also says “Release” makes his job a lot easier. “My Plant Tissue Analsys reports always come back with a long list of stuff that that I’m supposed to do. But I don’t have to… I just use Release instead. That stuff really works.”
Thomas Southall - Southall Farms Valdosta, GA
Thomas Southall was the first farmer to use “Release” on a large scale, and the first to substantiate Release™ product's claim with a 3rd party plant tissue analysis. That was more than ten years ago, and he’s been using “Release” ever since.
“ We grow bell peppers, spaghetti squash, zucchini, squash, specialty peppers, cucumbers and cabbage, and I’ve seen a 15 to 20% increase in my yields since I started using "Release,” Southall said.
“It’s been beneficial in several ways: We grow a lot of jumbo peppers, and “Release” has helped us grow more of them. More Jumbos means more money. Plus, I can pay for “Release” out of the money I save on other inputs. It simplifies things dramatically… It’s made a tremendous difference on my bottom line.”
Kent Hamilton – Hamilton Growers, Norman Park GA
Hamilton Growers, grows cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, squash, sweet corn and cabbage.
Kent doesn’t believe in guesswork. So, 10 years ago he took a 15-acre field and split right down the middle for a definitive A-B test of “Release” seven and a half acres of cucumbers grown with Release, and 7.5 acres without.
“I always test new products and new methods before I use something on a large scale,” Hamilton said.
The next planting, Hamilton did the same on the eggplants. On first picking, the field with “Release” produced four truckloads of eggplants, which was twice as much pick able product as the other field.
“Those two tests said it all,” Hamilton said. That was a good enough for me. We now use one gallon at planting, and another gallon 2 weeks later. (Total of 2 gallons.)
Release side had more yields and more #1 product than the side without release side.
RELEASE - WATERMELONS
APPLIED THROUGH DRIP IRRIGATION UNDER PLASTIC AT TWO GALLONS/ACRE AT FIRST WATERING AFTER PLANTING
Average tonnage was 45,000lbs per acre. Release treated fields yielded 59,000lbs per acre.
Watermelons were more uniform in size, color, with fewer rejections.
RELEASE - BELL PEPPERS
APPLIED THROUGH DRIP IRRIGATION UNDER PLASTIC AT TWO GALLONS/ACRE 7-10 DAYS AFTER PLANTING. ADDITIONAL GALLON APPLIED AT FRUIT SETTING.
Release treated bell peppers yielded 30% more than historical average. Yields increased from 1200 boxes per acre to 1600 boxes. Bell peppers were more inform and consistent in size and shape. Gross profit was $4800 per acre, on a $45 per acre investment.
